About Drama Club
The SCASD middle school drama club serves to provide a creative outlet for the students. This program allows all students a chance to participate, and does not discriminate based on race, color, age, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ancestry, national origin or disabilities. All who would like to be involved are encouraged to attend. Throughout the year there are workshops offered to enable students to take part in an introduction to theatre such as: acting, stage combat, musical theatre, improvisation, dance, and Shakespeare. The students also partake in auditions, rehearsals, and meetings to learn the art of stagecraft, and their performance is the culmination of all of their work throughout the year.
The mission of Drama Club is to foster a sense of community while providing opportunities for growth within each individual student. This will enable them to immerse themselves in the performing arts while building confidence, developing people skills, and learning about leadership. These attributes will follow them through school, and into their futures.
The SCASD Drama club is open to all students in grades 6, 7, and 8.
It is important that you never let your involvement in Drama Club come before your school work and responsibilities. Parents, we ask please for your help with this, and with all aspects of your child's drama club experience!
